Stunt Steez

Tommy Gore ditches the fags and booze to Ben Klock some footage. The promises of Barca wave whips never materialised however...

Drum sessions put on hold and Sean slides his stock around a silky swimmer.

Barspin attempt...must do better.

Rail chillz. Look out for The Bakery pre-Heaton with 4Downs Andy Clarky.

Barca street vert.

Tucked away in this grainy mess is a pig-approved, Sam Waller wall slash.

Booze Britain

7.30PM. We catch up with the lads at the start of the night at a local curry house. Many Brits will go for a curry at some point during a heavy night of drinking in the hope that it will  reduce the effects of alcohol.

11.30PM. Alcohol levels in the group are already way above the national recommended average and it looks as though a couple of the lads are already struggling to stay on their feet.

12.15AM. The emergency services respond to around 15,000 alcohol related incidents around the UK every Friday and Saturday night. After 12 pints, 3 Jaegerbombs and a pitcher of rum, Josh is not responding well to another reveller hogging the limelight on the dancefloor.

2.45AM. Despite drinking continuously for almost 8 hours the group show no signs of slowing down and its back to Sean's for a karaoke session. Lets just hope this keeps them out of any trouble.

Photo Techniques: Creative Angles

Following on from the success of my last tutorial (no comments but i knew you guys were taking it on board!), i decided to strike while the kettles black with another one. This time its all about getting those angles which bring out the best from your subjects and really can enhance that ever-expanding portfolio. Hmmm...yaaarrrr........

Encourage your subject to take risks, they may not always pay off but when they do...

It isn't just your subject that has to take risks - that means no more stock angles. Get involved chaps!

Next week we'll be organising your client portfolio so start digging out those African safari snaps.

Gnarly Action

Berlin Liberals

"Why have you got your rollerskates in the bottom of the pram, dear?" "Erm...."

Honestly....

Photo Techniques: Candids

As followers of this blog and others such as Sam's Wino Celler will know, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of photographers actively searching out the gritty realism of society (I refer to it as Gritty Social Realism) in their project work. This trend, originally made famous by Yo!Leewilliams and the lesser known Terry Richardson, relies heavily upon the Yashica T5 and the other members of its super-scoped family.

It is, however, not without its drawbacks as I hope to demonstrate:

That's right guys - the dreaded thumb. Capturing the moment is crucial but never sacrifice technique.
Keep up the good work, guys.

Behind the Scenes: 4Down Shoot

With his foot firmly on the property ladder, Andy 'Clarky' Clarke set about getting a few other things in his life put straight. First up, 4Down team page photo shoot. I met up with Clarky and the session (we're talkin AM here, guys) was already in full flow - Iron Morris on his debut directorial duty and George Marshall taking care of livefeed colourisation.

Stocky brewery, Stocky pub and a classic Stocky Bones manuever. Nice hues George.

Euro/Dig/Moto/Union/Stylee rail.

Mozza wanted an extra angle to be on the safe side. Lookout for this photo being used in the A*&%$BikeCo press release for Clarke signature Beanie hat.

Deadline met and Mozza can now relax and share a well earnt joke with the rest of us. Just waiting for Deano Hearno and then we're off to the Crypt for a night of AC/DC inspired messiness. Peace x x
